PT PLN (Persero) has recorded
excellent performance throughout 2022. In fact, based on the 2022 financial
report, the electricity company recorded the best financial performance in the
company's history with a net profit of IDR 14.44 trillion.
The increase in net profit was supported by an increase in
electricity sales which reached 6.3% or a total of 273.8 kWh (TWh). This
causes electricity sales revenue to increase by 7.7% from IDR 288.8 trillion in
2021 to IDR 311.1 trillion in 2022.
This
good financial performance allowed PLN to pay IDR 2.19 trillion in dividends
and IDR 35.33 trillion in corporate taxes to the state. This was decided
at the general meeting of shareholders (GMS) at the BUMN Ministry Building,
Jakarta, Wednesday (7/6).
The dividend deposit increased 191.7 percent from 2021 of IDR
750 billion. Meanwhile, tax payments increased by 13.1% compared to 2021.
Main Director of PLN Darmawan Prasodjo is committed to continuing to contribute
more to the state and society, one of which is through improving financial
performance.
"Behind the achievements
of our financial performance, the transformation carried out by corporations is
the key to getting through difficult times. As a result, despite facing a loss
in the exchange rate of nearly Rp. 20 trillion, our profit receipts for 2022
will still increase by 124% from the target," said Darmawan in a written
statement. , Thursday (8/6).
Darmawan explained that the
increase in electricity sales last year was dominated by industrial and
business sector customers. This sector's electricity consumption increased
by 24.54%, while the business sector increased by 22.47%.
PLN's performance improvement,
he said, would have a multiplier impact. In addition to boosting the
community's economy, the company will also contribute to the state. "We
are optimistic that we will continue the best performance this year and the
following year. PLN is trying to optimally manage operations and financial
performance so that it can contribute even more to the country," said Darmawan.
Deputy Minister of BUMN I,
Pahala Nugraha Mansury, appreciated PLN's best achievements in 2022. According
to Pahala, this achievement could not be separated from the transformation
efforts carried out by the company over the past three years.
Pahala explained that PLN
managed to record better performance compared to the previous year, especially
in providing a multiplier effect to the community. He appreciated PLN's
continued efforts to provide reliable electricity, even in 3T (underdeveloped,
frontier and outermost) areas.
