PIP Will Distribute Cheap Credit to 2.2 Million Ultra Micro Debtors in 2023, Interest?
The Government Investment Center (PIP) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) is targeting ultra micro financing (UMi) for 2.2 million debtors in 2023.
Main Director of the Government Investment Center
Ismed Saputra, explained that the distribution of ultra-micro financing is directed at reaching
business actors who have not yet been served with financing, especially in the
agricultural sector and at the same time contributing positively to reducing
the poverty rate.
"This year we are targeting financing of 2.2 million debtors.
As of June 14, 2023, 568,574 debtors have realized or reached 26 percent,"
said Ismed in the Ministry of Finance's PIP Media Meet Up, Friday (16/6/2023).
In
terms of composition, 507,131 debtors were women and the remaining 16,948 were
male debtors. Interestingly, from year to year, the percentage of female
debtors dominates UMi's financing
distribution .
Meanwhile,
in terms of age, the majority of debtors are aged 40-49 years, namely 31
percent, then those aged 30-39 years and over 50 years, each of which is 27
percent. The remaining debtors with an age range of 20-29 years are 14
percent and under 20 years are 1 percent.
Then,
in terms of the loan tenor, debtor data as of June 14 2023 shows that 507,131
debtors received financing with a tenor of 6-12 months, 44,495 debtors with a
tenor of more than 12 months, and 16,948 debtors with a tenor of under 6
months.
Furthermore,
reflecting on the 2022 achievements, the Ministry of Finance's PIP has
succeeded in disbursing financing to 2.01 million debtors, above the target of
2 million debtors, or with a percentage of 101 percent with total disbursed
financing of IDR 8.13 trillion.
Thus,
Ismed said that the target of 2.2 million debtors in 2023 is still realistic.
"The
quality of financing or Net Performing Loan (NPL) is maintained at a low level,
and has been reduced through restructuring efforts," he explained.
Apart
from that, mentoring Business Actors Not only disbursing UMI financing, the PIP of the Ministry of Finance has
also made various efforts to increase the effectiveness and quality of
mentoring programs by dealers to business actors.
